Golf - That Winning Attitude

Author: Michael Leung

Have you noticed that no matter how much you practice the right thing (may it be your back swing, your golf grip) on the driving range it is not guaranteed that you will play like that during an actually game. Yes, they say that practice makes perfect but it still doesn't guarantee that one will play well on the actual golf course. And no matter how perfect the maybe conditions maybe at that time, like the perfect lie of the ball, the best angle of the ball, a clear sunny day, the latest golf clubs in the market. And believe it or not no matter how perfect everything is, one day that golf ball will drop in the hole and the next day, under the same conditions and circumstances, the ball may not drop in the hole. You have to keep your mind right and your head up high - my fellow golfers!

For example take Tiger Woods, the current King of the Golf World. Well he doesn't always have perfect days! Sometimes people wonder if he is going to win that tournament or will he make it to the top 5 golf rankings. During his bad times he will just keep on playing and keep his head up high - swinging at those golf balls and making those shots. Not giving up - and always trying.

Many golf players unfortunately underestimate their own attitude and mentality towards golf. The golf swing and the shot is both very important, but if your mind is not fully focussed on the shot or you are in a bad mood - chances are your shot is going to be poor. Attitude and your golfing mentality are all you have at times - it is something certain because it is your own mind. You have to keep focused and visualise those perfect shots. Be calm and collected on the course, breath deeply and do not freeze when it is your turn to hit the ball. And if you make a bad shot and the frustration starts to kick in, simply remind yourself that it is just a game and that your next shot is going to amazing. When you hit those long drives or that hole in one remember it! Play it back in your head over and over again. So remember, your golfing attitude and mentality are both vitally important as your actual golf shot. Happy Golfing!
