4 Star Prague Hotels

Author: Ken Marlborough

When choosing a hotel to stay in while visiting Prague, you need to find a place where you are happy and comfortable without having to pay too much for it. Since 1989 the amount of tourists visiting Prague has steadily been increasing. With the increased number of visitors, the number of hotels, as well as other forms of lodging has steadily been increasing.

Hotel Ratings

Much like the hotels in other countries, the hotels in Prague are rated in a five star system. However, unlike other countries, the ratings of the hotels in Prague are not regulated by the international rating regulations. The owners of the hotels in Prague are the ones who rate their own hotels. Therefore due to the subjectivity of these ratings, with unclear guidelines they are very unreliable, these ratings should not be taken at face value.

In other countries a four star hotel is usually very nice, and generally too expensive to stay in for most people. In Prague, however, having a four star hotel means almost nothing. In fact, some three star hotels are more expensive and nicer than other four star hotels.

The best way to find a hotel to stay in would be to only use the ratings a guideline. It would be best to rely more on customer comments, and feedbacks when choosing a hotel. These comments are usually available for you to read on the internet, as well as most travel agencies. Asking the opinions of a travel agent is also a great idea for you to consider if you are considering on traveling to a place you are not familiar with.

When to Go

The high season of tourism in Prague is April to October, as well as Christmas and New Year. You should be aware that traveling during this time will cost you more than traveling during the low season. If you intend on visiting this place during the high season make sure you book your accommodations well in advanced. More than likely, hotels will book up very fast during this time period.
